"What... I'm trying to read here."

Now that Sophie has mastered walking and running she is now into EVERYTHING!
Sophie has become quite the little comedian lately. She loves making and viewing silly faces.
Snugglebug.

Sophie recently became interested in climbing. All our furniture is too tall for her to climb onto herself but she loves playing on the beds and couch.

Sophie & Ty

Sophie has been trying very hard to say "cat" but it comes out like "ack." She gets very excited when she notices Ty so it might be awhile until she can focus on getting the word out correctly.

Sophie loves to snuggle! She's a little sweetheart.

Cutie Patootie

Sophie likes to destroy my closet. She enjoys pulling my shoes out of their cubbies and pulling clothes off the hangers. Sophie can't stand when towels are hanging on racks. She will pull them off and drop them on the floor. Sometimes she'll grab both ends and can't pull the towel down, which results in her growling at the towel. Sophie is not a "roll with the punches" kind of girl.
Happily eating Cherrios out of her bowl. Sophie isn't interested in using a spoon yet but she does really well using her hands to eat. I put a little milk in the bowl and she actually doesn't make too much of a mess (just on her face as you can see).
Seriously cute.
Sophie just recently decided it is fun to lie on the ground, bed, or couch and play. Don't be mistaken, even though she is lying down Sophie is still quite active and will roll around or kick her feet wildly.

Beach Day

Sophie loves smoothies. She also loves to mooch off Mommy. She grabbed my smoothie and wouldn't let go. We were afraid she would get brain freeze but she never showed any signs of it.

Sophie was chasing the shadows made by the kites.

Videos

Sophie loves to play with the shape sorting box. When you put the blocks in the box it plays music. Sophie found a loophole though. She shakes the box or rocks it back and forth and it will play the music. She hasn't quite gotten the concept of putting things in, but rather will only take them out. That means either I am constantly picking up after her or the house is a disaster. I often take the latter approach.

Sophie was eating breakfast with Elmo that morning. She had a little chat with the camera as well.

Cutie Pie

I was trying to take a picture of Sophie while she was sitting because Ty and gently petting him. Needless to say, I couldn't get the picture before Sophie decided to crawl over Ty to get to a toy behind him. Thankfully Ty is very patient with Sophie (usually) and when he is not he has the good sense to run away and hide.
It's really hard to get a picture of Sophie smiling when I'm by myself. She gets very distracted by the camera. Here, I was playing our balloon game where I throw the balloon in the air and say "Up and Down."
When Sophie gets excited she starts huffing. There she is in mid-huff.
Loving the Swiffer duster. Unfortunately Sophie didn't use it as intended but walked around shaking it instead.
Sophie loves her stuffed animal friends. She's always giving them hugs and kisses. Her favorites are the big brown bear, Elmo, and her penguin pillow pet.

Sophie's First Birthday Party

Sophie had a great time at her birthday party! The weather was nice so we could play outside (and we didn't have to clean up much inside!).

Publix has a special deal for first birthdays. You get a free toddler cake with the purchase of a 1/4 sheet cake. We chose an Elmo cake because Sophie loves him. She still plays with the toy that was on top of the cake.

This penguin was a gift from Maw Maw. Needless to say, Sophie loves him!

It's amazing how fast this year has gone by! Our baby isn't an infant anymore; she's a full blown toddler. We still have a little of trouble with her sleep habits, but other than that she's been really good. Sophie plays very well with other kids. She never cries when other kids take something from her and she is very gentle when interacting with kids her age or younger. Unfortunately, Sophie is still scaring away older kids by running up to them and shrieking with excitement. Her shrieks are very loud and to the uninitiated it sounds like she is upset. She's still very affectionate. Sometimes Sophie will run across the room just to give me a hug. We're really proud of our little girl.
