Sophie's First Trip to the Zoo

Sophie really enjoyed looking at the vegetation and all the other kids. She didn't shriek with happiness but she did "hoo" a lot, which is a sign she is having fun.
Sophie was really excited about this bench. She smacked it repeatedly and walked all around it. Apparently this was her favorite exhibit.
It was such a beautiful day and the zoo was not too crowded. Sophie didn't really notice the animals that much, but she loves being outside and looking at plants. I'm excited to take her back when she is a little older and can enjoy it more.

Snuggling with Nana. Sophie likes to nuzzle her forehead against other people's foreheads. She's very loving. Brian has a video of Sophie chatting with Pap at dinnertime. It's really cute. I'll try to post it soon.

Sophie's First Christmas

Dinnertime is very serious. She's probably thinking "take the freakin' picture already and give me my puffs!" Sophie is addicted to puffs. She frequently stages puffs protests which involves plopping down on the floor and refusing to stand up, crawl, or help us lift her up until she gets her puffs.
Sophie adores her cousin Alaina. She loves Kira too but Kira doesn't stay still long enough- Sophie can't keep up yet.

Standing & Walking

Helping Mommy fold laundry. She stood up all by herself!
One of Sophie's favorite new toys. She loves the scat singer and gets angry when she can't get her to sing.

Sophie has taken over the living room. Hopefully I can set up her play yard (a nice way of saying "fence") soon. Before we had Sophie I swore I wouldn't use one of them but I can get more things done that way.
Breaking Daddy's back. We can't wait until she can walk on her own. For the past couple months, we've had to lean over to hold her hands while she walks. It's awful on our backs, but Sophie is much happier and easier to deal with when she's mobile.

Right now Sophie is transitioning to two naps. Hopefully her naps will be longer when they are consolidated but I'm not holding out hope. Sophie is a sweetie but a terrible sleeper. She still loves giving kisses and we still love getting them.

Far Behind

Since Sophie has started walking around the house with our help, it has been difficult to get photos of her. She is almost constantly on the move. Really the only times she'll sit still for an extended period of time is when she's eating puffs or reading books. She is very affectionate. She loves to give kisses. She will kiss favorite pages in books, her reflection, pictures, stuffed animals, the cat, and Mommy & Daddy. Sophie is friendly with younger babies. She likes to pet them like she pets Ty. But she's a little more reserved with the older kids. She will walk right up to them but she tends to watch what they are doing rather than interact with them. Sophie's still not consistently sleeping through the night. Apparently, a small percentage of post-colic babies are terrible sleepers and nothing can be done about it. I spent $10 and a couple hours of reading a book by a pediatric sleep expert to find that out. She's doing a great job of pulling herself up to stand. I suspect she'll be walking in the next couple months.

Sophie's eating chicken and rice for the first time and is not sure about it. She stopped eating to sing a song to Mommy & Daddy.
