8 weeks, 11 lbs. 10 oz.

So here is the video I promised. I started out with an example of Sophie fussing. This is how she spends much of her time, particularly between 6PM and 11PM, but also during the day as well, although it's not at the same time consistently. During the day it can vary from morning to afternoon. It keeps us both quite busy.

Sometimes the vacuum is the only thing that will calm her down, so the floors get regular cleaning. Sometimes that doesn't work, and we put some tennis balls in the dryer. Sometimes this noise will settle her.

I ended the video with some happier times. These are becoming more frequent.

I ended with her sneeze because it's just too cute (biased parents opinion)

  1. Being a parent is a lot like a salesmans life. Peaks of exhiliration interspersed with the depths of despair! But then comes the most engaging little sneeze the world has ever seen! Sophie is a cutey! Love ya, Dad

  2. have you tried putting music on to make noise? maybe it's because it's too quiet around the house? i don't know, but just a suggestion... it may be less annoying than a vacuum :) she's certainly cute ^_^ <3

  3. yeah, we have a whole array of baby musical devices, and Sophie likes to dance to loud music....which really is just us dancing while holding Sophie.

I think there is also something to the continuous monotone noise of the vacuum that settles her.

We actually read about the vacuum trick on the web when searching for colic tips. It is annoying though.
